This resource list includes organizations and wellness initiatives that serve Black, Native, Latinx, and Asian American communities in the Greater Boston area, as well online mental health resources for BIPOC.

RIAC COMMUNITY COUNSELING SERVICES

RIAC Community Counseling Services is a community-based mental health and social support program created to serve the unique needs of refugees and immigrants. Our multi-cultural and multi-lingual clinical staff has expertise in refugee and immigrant mental health issues as well as a deep understanding of the cultural needs of the populations we serve. We currently offer services in English, Farsi, Ibo, Hausa, Swahili, Spanish, French and Somali, utilizing medical interpreters as needed. Call RIAC at (617)238-2430 to make an appointment today. MGH CENTER FOR CROSS-CULTURAL STUDENT EMOTIONAL WELLNESS (CCCSEW)

We create high-quality, evidence-based resources (webinars, multilingual fact sheets) and services focused on mental health education and prevention for parents, students, educators, and clinicians. We also conduct pioneering research regarding the populations we serve. Finally, we facilitate access to culturally sensitive care for those who need it. JAPANESE BOSTONIAN SUPPORT LINE

The hotline is available free of charge and provides support to clients in either Japanese or English between 10am and 4pm on weekdays. Please leave us a voicemail or send us email outside of these hours so we can get back to you.

The Japanese Boston Support Line also offers case management and support, referrals to counseling, elderly visitations, support groups, and educational outreach.

Saheli offers non-judgmental culturally sensitive services to domestic and sexual violence survivors from South Asia and the Middle East. Saheli’s trained domestic violence advocates speak several South Asian languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Nepali, and also Arabic. Saheli offers legal support including translation, accompanying survivors to court and police stations, and offering free family law legal clinics. All of Saheli services are free and confidential.

NATIVE AMERICAN LIFELINES: GENERAL COUNSELING SERVICES

Native American LifeLines, Inc. is a Title V Indian Health Services contracted Urban Indian Health Program, with a behavioral health program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Individual and group counseling services are available to meet the needs of American Indians in the Boston area. Telebehavioral health counseling is also available to those not local to our office.

CASA ESPERANZA

Casa Esperanza has five primary programs that support and meet the unique long term needs of people in recovery: Clinical Stabilization Services (Conexiones), Residential Services (Casa Esperanza Men’s Program and the Latinas y Niños Center), Familias Unidas Outpatient Program, and the Supportive Housing Program, all utilizing a client-centered integrated care approach to treatment and service delivery. Casa Esperanza’s programs focus on the unique cultural and social needs of Latinos in recovery, promoting positive roles as a nurturing parent, supportive partner and friend, and contributing community member. Our programs help men and women heal from trauma and abuse; establish and maintain healthy relationships; grieve lost loved ones; develop critical thinking, conflict resolution, and health-management skills; exchange unhealthy behaviors for healthy behaviors; and secure essential resources including housing, health insurance and other benefits, education, and employment to sustain recovery and achieve independence.
