MASS 211

Mass211 is a 24/7 telephone resource that provides information about local health and community services. Resources include support groups, volunteer opportunties, donation programs, and youth and elderare services. Calls are free, anonymous, and confidential. Resource listings are also available through the Mass211 website.

MASS VETS ADVISOR

MassVetsAdvisor.org is an online resource that connects veterans and their families in Massachusetts to the variety of benefits available to them. The website provides links to state and federal programs and non-profit resources for financial, education, housing, and other assistance.

MASSACHUSETTS COALITION FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION (MCSP)

The MCSP offers opportunities for involvement in suicide prevention efforts and provides links to suicide prevention and grief support resources. The coalition supports and develops suicide prevention initiatives, promotes collaboration among organizations, develops and recommends policies, and promotes research.

MASSACHUSETTS COMMISSION ON END OF LIFE CARE

The Massachusetts Commission on End of Life Care provides educational resources regarding end of life care and a directory of care and service providers throughout Massachusetts. Available resources cover issues of home care, palliative care, hospice, pain management, and symptom control.

MASSACHUSETTS COUNCIL ON COMPULSIVE GAMBLING

Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling provides a free, confidential 24/7 helpline and online chat with specialists offering emotional support and referrals for those affected by problems with gambling. Recovery and support programs are also available, including Gamblers Anonymous meetings and retreats.

MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH – SUICIDE PREVENTION PROGRAM

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) Suicide Prevention Program supports suicide awareness and prevention efforts in Massachusetts. The program provides support to community agencies, education and trainings for professionals and caregivers serving at risk populations, and funding for organizations working with youth, veterans, and older adults.

MASSACHUSETTS ORGANIZATION FOR ADDICTION RECOVERY (MOAR)

MOAR works to connect those struggling with substance use to treatment and support services. MOAR also seeks to educate the public on addiction and the importance of recovery and influence Massachusetts policy to ensure state funding for substance abuse treatment services.

MASSACHUSETTS STATEWIDE EMERGENCY SERVICES PROGRAM (ESP)

The ESP provides statewide behavioral health crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization services. To receive services, call the ESP toll-free number 24/7 and enter your ZIP Code to get the number of your local ESP provider.

MASSACHUSETTS SUBSTANCE ABUSE HELPLINE

The Massachusetts Substance Abuse Helpline provides free, confidential information and referrals for alcohol and other drug abuse problems. Callers are linked with treatment and prevention services in Massachusetts. Interpreter services are available for non-English speakers.

Samaritans Helpline provides a free, confidential 24/7 telephone helpline to people having throughts of suicide or who need help with life's challenges and difficulties. Samaritans also provides a text service through the same number and an online chat service through their website.

SEATA (SELF-EMPOWERING ADDICTION TREATMENT ASSOCIATION) DIRECTORY

The SEATA provides a directory for addiction treatment services based on a harm reduction model. SEATA's directory includes provider listings and consumer reviews for assessment services, coaching, detoxification, inpatient and outpatient services, mutual help groups, and education/trainings.

STATEWIDE ADVOCACY FOR VETERANS’ EMPOWERMENT (SAVE) BOSTON

SAVE acts as a liaison between veterans and their families and the various agencies within the federal and state governments. The program's primary mission is prevention of suicide and mental health distress through the identification of issues facing veterans when they return from service and providing them with access to benefits and services that may address these issues and result in positive transitions back to civilian life.
