Resources for Survivors
of Sexual Abuse & Domestic Violence

This list includes Greater Boston services and resources for survivors of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and other interpersonal crises. These resources offer helplines, shelters, legal advocacy services, therapy for trauma, and support groups.

COMPLEX TRAUMA TREATMENT CENTER BOSTON

The Complex Trauma Treatment Center Boston provides outpatient trauma-focused psychotherapy and mind-body wellness counseling for youth, adults, couples and families who have been impacted by interpersonal trauma, loss, social oppression and other forms of life adversity.

BOSTON AREA RAPE CRISIS CENTER (BARCC)

BARCC provides free, confidential support and services to survivors of sexual violence ages 12 and up and their families and friends. We work with survivors of all genders, and our goal is to empower survivors to heal and seek justice in ways that are meaningful to them. We meet the needs of survivors in crisis and long after, and we also assist them as they navigate the health-care, criminal legal, social service, and school systems.

RAPE, ABUSE, & INCEST NATIONAL NETWORK (RAINN)

RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE, online.rainn.org y rainn.org/es) in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

DOD SAFE HELPLINE (SEXUAL ASSAULT SUPPORT)

Safe Helpline for Military Sexual Trauma- The Department of Defense has contracted with RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) to provide independent and anonymous services for this hotline for the DoD Community

PTSD COACH ONLINE

PTSD Coach Online has tools for coping with sadness, anxiety, and other symptoms that people who have been through trauma can develop. Some tools are brief and can help you relax when you feel stressed, or improve your mood, for example. Longer tools teach you how to tackle difficult problems, change thinking patterns, and take steps to achieve your goals.
